The Effusion Group

The Effusion Group, together with co-sponsors Egressive and IOPEN Technologies, developed and configured the hardware and systems that will deliver reliable and fast wifi internet at DrupalSouth to well over 100 devices. The same setup was proven successful at Kiwi PyCon 2009.
The Effusion Group was founded early in 2002 by four companies all of which are dedicated to the use of open standards in software development and open source business models.

The forming of the Effusion Group gave the founding companies, all small businesses, the ability to share resources and to set up an environment in the city centre (Kenton Chambers) where a community could form.

To date Effusion offers a range of services, primarily communication infrastructure, to the Kenton Chambers building and the community has grown to include a range of technology focused companies ranging from software and interaction design companies to IT consulting companies. The environment is such that members of the companies regularly talk to each other and a number of joint venture projects are on the go at any one time.
